Reflections #1

Image result for silver refinerToday is Friday!! Woop woop!! I love Fridays mostly because I get to sleep in for 2 good days. You feel me? My week has been a good one, trying to adjust to a new environment and place  of work and wake up early, and at the same time be a great wife and mum. I am getting the feel of being a woman-balancing-on-heels ;-) Its actually really good but i need to catch some sleep. This week I have been learning so much but my greatest take I will share with you.

Remember how as young child you were excited about travelling? One would barely sleep... and in the morning you were the first to get ready? good times huh? Think about the journey to your destination now... I loved travelling to my grandma's place in Nyandarua and our route was the Nakuru-Naivasha highway,  The scenery was amazing from Nairobi to Gilgil, we had our share of fun in that 2 hour trip.

So now.. to my lesson... imagine you are so focused on getting to Nyandarua, such that it is the only thing you cared about, you forgot to look at all the beautiful scenery there is, you do not get to see the Longonot and the pizza place upthere:), then when you finally get there, you have no idea what it felt like you just got to where you were going. Nothing happens without reason. There is purpose for each and everything that happens and the best part is that God knows and He is right there with you. There are lessons that are to be learnt, characteristics to be gained and more and more sharpening and cleansing. I am learning to take a step at a time, live a day at a time, enjoy where I am so that when I go to the next level I will be prepared for greater things.

After loosing my mum, I went through a very hard accepting that she is actually gone. I blamed myself and God and I kept wondering why a God so loving would do such a horrible thing to us. Gradually I have accepted the loss and I am learning to be strong and praise God even in the bad times. That He is still God in all seasons and time again has He strengthened me.
Let God mold you, sharpen you, pass you through the fire... take time to shed off the skin, let the chips come off, feel the heat, It is all for your good, God wants to bring out the best of you.

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness.

Love.
Muthoni Muange.
