Mr Jaden,
Today, you turn 11. And as I write this letter, my heart overflows with gratitude. Gratitude for the gift that you are, the joy you bring, and the incredible person you are becoming.
From the moment you came into my life, you changed everything. You made me a mother, and with that, you taught me love in its purest form. Every day, I watch you grow—learning, discovering, and shaping the world around you with your kindness, your strength, and your incredible heart.
As you step into this new year, here are 11 things I want you to know, to carry with you, and to hold onto whenever you need a reminder of how deeply you are loved.
1. God Is Always With You.
No matter where you go, no matter what happens, God is with you. He hears your prayers, He sees your heart, and He has an incredible plan for your life. Trust Him, always.
2. Your Emotions Are a Gift.
You feel everything—joy, sadness, excitement, frustration—and that is a rare and beautiful thing. Your emotions make you empathetic, they help you understand people, and they make you who you are. Never be afraid to feel.
3. Your Discipline Will Take You Far.
I see it in the way you take responsibility, in the way you commit to what you start, in the way you hold yourself accountable. Keep that discipline—it will open doors, shape your future, and help you achieve your dreams.
4. You Are Stronger Than You Know.
Life will test you. There will be days when things feel tough, when you doubt yourself when you want to give up. But my son, you are strong. You carry a strength that will help you push through anything. Trust it.
5. Kindness Will Always Matter.
Being kind is never wasted. The way you notice others, the way you help, the way you show up—it all makes a difference. Keep choosing kindness, even when the world does not.
6. Your Dreams Are Valid
Whatever dreams are in your heart, they are there for a reason. Never stop believing in them. Whether big or small, every dream matters, and with hard work and faith, you can achieve anything.
7. You Love Fiercely.
Your love for Wendo, Tana, and Keni is one of the most beautiful things about you. The way you protect them, the way you laugh with them, the way you care—it all speaks of a heart that loves deeply. Never stop loving with all your heart.
8. Mistakes Are Not the End.
You will make mistakes. We all do. But mistakes are not failures—they are lessons. Learn from them, grow from them, and never be afraid to try again.
9. Family Is Everything.
We may not always agree, we may have tough moments, but family is your foundation. We will always love you, support you, and stand by you—no matter what.
10. You Are Enough.
In a world that will try to make you feel like you need to be more, do more, or change who you are—never forget this: You are enough just as you are. God made you perfectly, and you do not need to prove your worth to anyone.
11. I Will Always Be Here.
Through every stage of your life—whether you are 11, 21, or 51—I will always be here. Cheering you on, praying for you, loving you with all my heart. There is nothing that will ever change that.
As you turn 11, my prayer is that this year is filled with joy, discovery, and new adventures. Keep being you, my love, because you are truly one of a kind.
